Reporting to the Regional Accounting Leader, the Accountant is responsible for recording, analyzing, and reporting all financial data related to the business units assigned. In addition, this Accountant role in Mexico is also responsible for maintaining both the USD and Mexican sets of books of our Mexicali unit.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the creation of accounting records, including general accounting and costing
- Responsible for maintaining both the Mexico and USD sets of books and understanding the differences between the two
- Responsible for the liaison with the Mexico tax consultant to ensure accurate reporting of Mexican local book
- Assist with any Mexico tax-related inquiries
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and document business transactions
- Monthly close, reporting, and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist in the implementation of accounting and internal controls policies
- Assist in the maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structure
- Analyze and explain results to plan
- Review revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting transactions
- Perform the input and handling of financial data and reports for Creation's financial systems
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
- Other duties assigned

Experience
- Good working knowledge of IFRS
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience within a dynamic business environment, preferably with a mid-large manufacturing company
- Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience
- Experience and demonstrated ability in effectively partnering with senior business leaders, developing a broad understanding of all aspects of operations
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills to understand, interpret, and accurately measure financial performance and communicate financial data
- Track record of being a contributing member of a high performance accounting team
- Working knowledge Tier1 ERP system preferred (Oracle, SAP)
- Strong computer skills - MS office suite
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree, Accounting/Business major is preferable
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
