The Role:
This Accountant position plays a key role in tracking and reporting on Company and Projects financial performance.
Responsibilities: Must be knowledgeable on all aspects of construction accounting and will be responsible for the following:
Assist Controller with accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, billing, sales tax reporting, etc. Assist with the preparation and execution of construction contracts and monitor each projects progress from commencement to completion Work closely with Project Managers and Project Executives on all facets of project accounting and administration issues. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financials. Work collaboratively to help develop and improve accounting policies and reporting practices. Work with controller to standardize financial operating policies & procedures and document/implement accordingly. Assist controller in managing construction-related general ledger accounts, fixed assets, Income Statements, and key Balance Sheet components including reconciliations, and build appropriate controls, processes, and enhancements Assist in the administration of a Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) and Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 6+ years in industry (experience in construction industry required). Strong familiarity with US GAAP, implement internal controls, identify risks, and ensure compliance Solid technical background with experience working with IT to develop automation Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook; Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to multi-task, problem solve, self-direct, manage a complex workload, meet deadlines, and communicate efficiently and effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and explain complex information clearly. Experience using QuickBooks a plus.
