.The Mexico Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager, Americas and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions for Mexico. The Accountant will lead the day-to-day accounting functions, month-end and year closing processes, and analyze data, as necessary, to ensure that the general ledger is complete and accurate and that statutory filing and payment obligations are being met. This role is also responsible for the maintenance of adequate internal controls. Projects will be assigned to automate and streamline tasks processes.Job Responsibilities:- Preparation of annual Mexican local financial statements, presenting them to the company's statutory examiner and assisting with the annual stockholders' meeting- Preparation and posting of journals to ensure complete and accurate accounting- Preparation and submission of monthly data into BPC under International Financial Reporting Standards- Preparation and submission of Balance Sheet reconciliations on a timely basis into Blackline ensuring the balance sheet is clean and no aged / unresolved items are outstanding- Reconciling Intercompany accounts with no aged balances and with any differences (if any) fully investigated- Execution of account clearing- Fixed Asset accounting including depreciation runs, capitalization of assets in construction and ensuring timely opening/closing of projects- Reconciling statutory books and import and export documentation with bank statements to provide relevant accruals based and cash based accounting records to third party tax advisers- Working with 3rd party providers (tax and payroll) to ensure all relevant tax filings and payments are filed on an accurate and timely basis- Submitting the Mexican trial balance to the Tax Authority on a monthly and annual basis and submitting the Chart of accounts each time it is modified- Working with relevant teams to ensure electronic invoicing requirements are met on a timely basis through the Tax Authority portal- Assisting the wider SSC US team with Americas finance projects and ad-hoc requests- Undertaking any other financial tasks/projects aligned to the delivery of the Americas Shared Service center and required to support colleagues and stakeholders- Supporting the external auditors during interim and year end audit, ensuring information is provided on a timely basis- Working with the internal audit department to ensure that any issue raised by them is actioned and resolved by the due date- Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting- Fluent in Spanish and English- Knowledge of Mexican accounting standards with experience of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge a bonus- SAP knowledge- Understanding of Mexican tax reporting and payment requirements, including e-invoicing and e-accounting to work alongside third party advisers
