Accountant Payroll
Position Purpose
Responsible of processing company´s payroll and payroll taxes on a time and accurate basis. Analyzes payroll ensuring proper handling of earnings, deductions, taxes and employee benefits and monitors customer feedback in order to drive change and ensure service excellence. In addition, supports supervisor and payroll manager reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory requirements as well as corporate policy reviews for payroll, including but not limited to social contributions, payroll state taxes and e-accounting compliance, and proper recording in accounting books.
Primary Accountabilities
- Responsible of processing payroll timely and accurate basis and prepares and analyzes weekly payroll reports. Updates and maintains Savings Fund database, severance benefits, food coupons, child supports withholdings, terminations calculations, housing credits withholdings, comission fees, FONACOT withholdings among others duly recorded and paid, responding to any questions from employees and functional areas, requesting proper payment approval and ensuring proper allocation.
- Reviews and is charge duly compliance on payroll taxes from employer and withheld to the employees a. Makes reconciliation with Authorities SUA system, payroll system and goverment reports identifyings differences, proceeding with corresponding corrections and finalizing in corresponding payments. Generates the monthly & bimonthly social security tax, Infonavit, FONACOT & SAR payments. Elaborates State Payroll Tax calculation for each one the 32 states. Makes an Excel report to compare current monthly payment against previous month and to compare current monthly payment againstbook recordinds, explains the differences and suggessts corrections, when necessary.
- Elaborates written documents to answer or clarify questions related to calculations or specific provisions to third parties, internal team and Authorities.These clarifications are made via telephone as well with direct communication to the AutoZoners at stores, or when necessary and required by the Authorities attends the tax requirements, makes the writs to be file and coordinates the filing with the Authorities. Prepares the annual documentation necessary to issue the mandatory Authorities Opinion made by an independent auditor, analyzing all annual payments that Companies have in different Local Administrations registraries.
- Prepares and provides reports to controllers and direct reports. Maintains accuracy on accounts and journal entries relating to payroll, ensures that disbursements are properly recorded and handle the reconciliation of these accounts via the accounting system. Additionally, clarifies doubt or questions by providing support and service to all internal customer (autozoner) to clarify payroll issues or provides support on process or tramit related with payroll payment, banks, social security, permission, taxes.
- Assists with special projects where payroll or payroll taxes analysis is required. Assists other departments with doubts that arises due to Companies day to day transactions related to the area. Assists supervisor with several transactions. Looks for group opportunities and suggests procedures for processes improvement, and is on continues update
Education & Experience
Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
Area of Study: Accounting
Years of Experience: Two to three years.
Type of Experience: Payroll and Social Security experience with preference in shared service centers and retail industry.
Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Experience with ERP (Oracle, SAP), Open HR (GMP) and MS Office
Other/Preferred: Strong internal customer focus and communication skills, detail oriented, analytical and ability to get results through collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
