**Primary Purpose of the Position**:
SLP Accountant Senior reports directly to SLP Plant Controller who reports to NA Operations Controller. SLP Accountant Senior has the primary responsibility to support SLP plant controller to ensure the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting. This includes month end closing routines for inventory valuation, local payroll and benefits accounting, fixed asset, oversee inter-company consolidation and balance sheet analytics. SLP Accountant Senior has the responsibility to ensure on effective internal controls in compliance with SOX, companies policy and USGAAP and Local Mexican GAAP.
**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Support SLP Plant Controller and Tax Coordinator preparing in quarterly basics local financial statements required by the Mexican Authorities and provide support to the external audit for financial statements.
- Responsible to ensure internal and maquila controls are funtioning properly by preparing and mantaining narratives for SLP core processes such us scrap, physical inventory and development tires. Support with documentation, SOX and internal control testings.
- Responsible for fixed assets control, inventory, capitalization and calculate operating capital accruals. Prepare monthly functional analysis (including but not limited to P&L, balance sheet & various accounts).
- Support creation &/or support of 10K and 10Q disclosures (FORGE) and performing BX107C annual report for corporate.
- Coordinate monthly and annual activities such us raw material, WIP and MRO physical inventory, perform monthly analysis of expatriates expenses, support plant controller in review account reconciliation, coordinate and review intercompany operations.
**Education**:
- Bachalor Degree in accounting.
- CPA &/or MBA or other advanced Degree.
**Experience**:
3 years of accounting or related, auditing &/or financial analysis experience (preferably in a large corporate or manufacturing organization or public accounting firm).
**Knowledge**:
- Demonstrated knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products, SAP & Hyperion Essbase.
- Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).
- Interpersonal skills that establish & maintain excellent relationships & credibility quickly.
- Understanding of US GAAP, accounting for complex transactions & familiarity with internal controls in compliance with SOX.
- Good presentation & communication skills, both verbal & written.
