**Responsibilities****Property Accounting**:- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks for a portfolio of high-end rental properties.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.- Conduct credit card audits, meticulously reviewing transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance.- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between financial statements and internal records.- Conduct periodic audits to verify data integrity and identify discrepancies or irregularities.
**Financial Reporting and Analysis**:- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis and trend forecasting, to support decision-making processes- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections.- Collaborate with property managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations.- Work with Property Managers to ensure understanding of property accounting.
**Software Proficiency**:- Utilize industry-specific software such as Google Sheets, Excel, Appfolio and QuickBooks to manage property accounting and financial operations.- Ensure accurate data entry and maintain data integrity within the software systems.Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to software functionality or data discrepancies.- Stay updated on the latest software updates and improvements, making recommendations for system enhancements as needed.
**Qualifications**:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in property management accounting.- Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Appfolio and QuickBooks.- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data management.- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.- CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.Joining Shannon Property Management provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic property management company.
