Primary Purpose The Accounting Coordinator reports directly to the Coordinator/Accounting Manager/Country Controller who reports functionally to the Regional Controller - LA SBU and operationally to the Country Finance Director.
Main Responsibilities Responsible for the financial reporting processes accurately and timely.This includes the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing procedures, account reconciliations, and establishing judgmental reserve balances.Ensure processes are in compliance with U.S. GAAP and Company Policies. Support that identified control and internal audit gaps are remediated on a timely basis. Supervise Intercompany Transactions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems.Responsible for the upkeep and upgrades of the accounting systems and for accounting initiatives.Support audit activities with internal and external auditors.Maintain effective communication and relationships with local and regional leadership teams.Maintain accounting entries aligned with company policies and local requirements.Provide timely and accurate account analysis and reporting.Analyze accounts under his/her responsibility explaining any deviation or pending items.Accomplish SOX requirements.Build organizational capability for innovation through training and other avenues. Identify solutions to market-back challenges by leveraging Open Innovation, emerging technologies, partnerships, networks, suppliers, ideation, etc.Continuously promote changes and innovative improvements on processes, systems, and business concepts in order to deliver profitable and sustainable growth opportunities to Goodyear.Education and Certifications An undergraduate degree with a concentration in a business-related field (i.e. Accounting, Finance, Economics, etc.). For some countries in LA, he/she must be at least an undergraduate in Accounting.Experience Minimum 3 years experience in Finance / Accounting (Corporate or Banking).Experience working with multi-national corporations.Strong knowledge in both local and US GAAP accounting rules.Strong analytical skills and ability to understand complex data and issues and proactively develop solutions.Intermediate English (oral and written) and Spanish.
