AmesburyTruth is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD! In this role you will report to the Corporate Controller and lead a team of direct reports. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the General Accounting team in a multi-location environment; including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
An ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical accounting knowledge, including both Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), strong internal controls, process improvement, and financial reporting.
This position is based in Sioux Falls, SD and eligible to work on a hybrid schedule, coming in office 2-3 days per week. Job ResponsibilitiesManages day-to-day activities of team, consisting of an Accounting Supervisor and Senior Accountants working out of various locations and supporting North America locations of varying size, including the US, Mexico, and Canada.Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to operational and functional teams for interpretation of performance reports; resolving problems; preparing budgets and forecasts completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change.Develops and maintains company accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure congruency, accuracy, and timeliness in financial reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.Ensures compliance and helps to enhance internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of and compliance with financial requirements.Curates internal financial/accounting processes, driving continuous improvement and ensuring adaptation to the changing needs of the organization.Works with external customers to coordinate financial, tax, and regulatory audits as needed, serving as key point of contact.Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations, and recommending new procedures.Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.Represents finance department in cross functional projects, specifically the ERP transition to SAP.Assist as requested with other ad hoc projects and analysis. Requirements Qualifications / Prior ExperienceUndergraduate in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred10 years of experience working in accounting and finance roles, with a minimum of 5years in a managerial capacity.Experience working in a global manufacturing-oriented ERP environment. SAP, OneStream, or HFM experience preferred.Proven team leadership, change management and people development experience.Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and inspire and motivate teams.Strong financial and analytical skills with ability to analyze and solve problems.Proven track record of implementing internal controls and driving process improvements/change management.Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and experience with multi-location financial reporting.Strong team player who can work across multiple functions and can take an enterprise view beyond an individual site or plant.Detail and results oriented with a sense of urgency and the ability to work under deadline pressures.
