Your Role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and provides financial leadership and management for the Mexico office.
This requires a close working relationship with the Regional & Firmwide Accounting and Finance teams, as well as Office Directors, Studio Directors, and Design Managers.
The Accounting Manager ensures that local and Firmwide policies and protocols are followed, mentors and supports accounting staff, manages the weekly payment processing and monthly revenue and billing close.
The Accounting Manager must be proficient in all accounting software tools and reporting modules, to train staff and trouble shoot technical problems that arise within the department.
What You Will Do
- Serves as an integral member of office management and leadership team.
- Oversees billing and fee management operations in the office and ensures that all financial activities are consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Closely manages accounts payable, collections, billing, overhead expenses, and productivity projections.
- Monitors accounts receivable, collaborate and coordinate collection efforts.
- Prepares monthly estimate of profit and loss and manages monthly close.
- Reviews vendor contracts and provides appropriate feedback regarding business terms, as required.
- Identify opportunities and lead initiatives for process improvements.
- Provides training to the new hires, Studio Leaders, Design Managers and staff on internal accounting and project accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
- Together with the FW Accounting Team, oversees Free Trade Zone compliance and supports tax/accounting audits.
- Financial Reporting as required.
- Review and Process Bad Debt Write-offs
- Review and Approve weekly Expense Report entries for payment.
- Monthly Analysis of General Ledger accounts
- Maintain Balance Sheet Accounts & Monthly Journal Entries
- Participate in Firmwide Accounting Manager calls and initiatives.
- Maintain an efficient team that can function independently.
- Train and support staff on new or existing financial tools and processes
- Support/Perform Project Accounting & Accounts Payable roles when required.
Your Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting; MBA or CPA qualification desirable
- Strong knowledge of revenue processes.
- Finance/Accounting professional with 8+ years of related experience
- Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment and produce accurate and timely deliverables.
- Excellent business communication, supervisory, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultures, different levels of experience, both internal and external to the company
- Highly organized, detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Pro-active and able to work effectively alone and in a team environment.
- Proficient in data management with strong excel skills.
- Well written with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Able to respond to vendors, consultants and staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Experience with international taxes and multiple currencies
