**About the Role**:
My Code is growing and with this growth we are adding to our team!
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team.
The ideal teammate is one who strives for excellence.
This person understands the importance of being detail oriented and ensures the delivery of a thorough approach to all projects and tasks at hand.
Our Staff Accountant will interact with all levels of the business and must be diplomatic in their approach to problem solving while being proactive and resourceful.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:
- Working effectively with all members of the accounting team to perform month, quarter and year end tasks in compliance with US GAAP
- Obtaining and maintaining a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Preparing journal entries, Balance Sheet account reconciliations and Profit and Loss account analyses
- Participating and assisting with the preparation of the annual audit
- Assisting with the accounts payable processing, proper classification and mapping of expenses and General Ledger accounts
- Maintenance and organization of AP files (agreements, SOW, W9s, etc)
- Collection efforts and maintenance of A/R Aging
- Prepare Wires/ACH payments on a monthly basis
- Ad Hoc reports, analysis, and projects as needed by management
- Maintain monthly schedules of accounts, Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepaids, to name a few.
**Qualifications**
- 1-3 years accounting experience; Private/Public Accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP including experience in the preparation of financial statements
- Experience with QuickBooks a MUST and other ERP accounting systems (Netsuite or Oracle) a plus
- A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and willing (and able) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
- Ability to maintain relationships with vendors
- Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills
- Experience with Microsoft suite and Excel
- Must show accountability, be a team player and operate with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrate the highest level of personal ethics and professional integrity
- Can take on multiple projects/tasks and be a great problem solver
