GL Supervisor
Reports To Assistant Controller
Purpose
Responsibility
GL Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team to conduct month-end-closing, review tax Federal and payroll reports, review the control of FA and CFT, review balance sheets accounts reconciliations, cooperating with internal and external auditors.
Tasks/Duties
- Review aging of Certify System report.
- Review monthly freight reports.
- Review sorting accrual reports as well as monitoring of aging balances.
- Oversee monthly closing activities related to GL and FA JDE module maintenance.
- Review variance analysis on actuals.
- Review monthly reconciliation of GL, Payroll, Tax, CFT, IC accounts.
- Review MX Bank transactions posted.
- Oversee upload and download One stream report for financial closing process.
- Review MX and US accurate Payroll accounting and reporting on all payroll related feeds to finance.
- Review record of tax payments and the respective monthly adjustment of provisions.
- Authorize MX payroll and taxes bank transfers.
- Oversees accurate, correct, and timely GL, payroll, CFT and tax accounts reconciliations for audits/SOX.
- Oversees and review quarterly and yearly information to support forecast and budget processing.
- Preparation of Explanations of variations for the Monthly Financial Review related to BS GL accounts and expenses.
- Monthly review and approval of OneStream reconciliations of GL, payroll, CFT, taxes.
- Provide account analysis for assigned accounts and other accounts as necessary.
- Manage GL team members identified as professional individuals.
- Establishes internal rules and directs discipline across team members.
- Provides valuable insight to direct reports with sustained communication methods.
Authority
- JE's approval for month-end closing.
- Approval of JDE accounts maintenance.
- Approval of OneStream reconciliations month-end closing.
- Sign approval formats for FA disposals or movements in plant.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of GL accounting experience in the manufacturing/product business.
- English (Advanced)
Experience and Skills
- Strong communications skills across departmental areas.
- JDEdwards knowledge/skills is a plus.
- OS related knowledge skills are a plus.
- Five to ten years of GL accounting experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- Advanced skills in Excel.
- Specific accounting and finance experience to include monthly closing, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and projection.
- Management of direct reports, effective communication abilities to inform team members about direction and guidance.
