**What you will be doing**:
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations of the maquiladora
- Ensure that all maquiladora compliance and fiscal obligations are met including electronic accounting as well as informative and statistical declarations
- Review monthly provisional tax calculation and timely complete payment/refund process
- Review Lead monthly close process for consolidation of local results in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Provide insight and guidance for complex areas requiring accounting judgement (in collaboration with the México Group Controller and external service providers as necessary)
- Lead reconciliation process of all material balance sheet accounts
- Maintain strong internal control environment and suggest improvements for enhancement
- Lead accounting team in timely execution of required SOX controls
- Understand and maintain documentation of local to U.S. GAAP reconciling differences
- Prepare monthly and interim financial reporting
- Coordinate completion of annual transfer pricing study with external service provider
- Coordinate completion of annual external audit with external service provider
- Coordinate completion of annual tax declaration with external service provider and ensure proper controls over the deductibility of expenses
- Evaluate changes in law (LFT, LISR, LIVA) and evaluate the corresponding impact to the business and accounting implications
- Evaluate changes in NIF (Normas de Información Financiera) and the impact to the local ledger
- Understand key topics effecting calculation of weekly payroll and provide insight as required
- Ensure segregation of duties and other business controls are maintained
- Lead periodic balance sheet reviews and risk reviews
- Assist and/or lead completion of special projects
- Identify areas of opportunity for improvement and implement process for change management
- Develop accounting team and provide necessary coaching including completion of skills matrices, individual coaching conversations, self-reflections, and annual goal setting
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff members
- Lead strategic projects with business partners aimed at delivering the maximum strategic value and continuous improvement, which includes automation and digitization projects

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Master's Degree, highly preferred
- Evidence of ability to speak and write in advanced English
- CPA (contador público), CMA or other evidence of technical competence
- A minimum of 8-10 years in accounting and finance, preferably with a professional service firm
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the maquiladora manufacturing environment
- Experience working with U.S.based companies (preferably publicly traded entities)
- Experience working with SAT and IMSS
- Prior experience managing employees, preferred
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP-system, preferred
