**Accounting Supervisor (Shared Service)**

**Main Tasks**:

- Lead and manage the team composed of accountants
- Ensuring all related accounting activities are completed in an efficient and timely manner such the General accounting, Closing, Reporting, Journal Entries, Tax and VAT submissions, etc
- Standardize and implement the Record to Report global operating model
- Participate in Country Transitions to centralize GL function in the GBS
- Responsibility to deliver efficiency and effectiveness in monthly financial reporting for group accounting and for statutory purposes
- Handle ad hoc requests from various stakeholders - senior finance management, corporate finance, compliance, audit, and tax.
- Maintain Accounting processes according to requirements and keeping it aligned with Financial Statement and Corporate Income Tax submissions
- Ensure compliance to all tax, legal and statutory requirements - Propose, implement and enforce standardized processes and procedures across the region
- Optimize tools and systems available to provide automated financial and operational information
- Prepare, and submit VAT returns, Intrastat and other Tax associated reporting requirements.
- Define and implement strategies to mitigate tax risk in close cooperation with Corporate Finance
- Staff recruitment, selection, management, motivation and training
- Coaching and "hands on" approach to the necessary workloads
- Maintenance of process documentation
- Promote continuous improvements and best practices within Leica Geosystems
- Initiate or flag improvement opportunities as identified during projects

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Minimum 5 years in Finance and Accounting roles, including People Management
- Strong knowledge in SAP and Hyperion Financial Management
- Experience with US/CAN Tax - Reporting submissions and calculations, Reporting and Accounting
- Good understanding of IFRS and/or US/CAN GAAP´s
- Be a strong communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have great influencing and relationship building skills
- Previous experience as General Legder / Record to Report Team Leader
- Experience with Shared Service Centers (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment
- Strong knowledge in SAP and Hyperion Financial Management
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- High Level of English, other languages will be a plus.

**Education**:
Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

**Language**:
Must be fluent in Spanish and English
