Accounts Assistant (Junior role) We are seeking a skilled Accounts Assistant to join our Mexico office. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless finance operations functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import/export processes, cargo clearance and comprehensive knowledge of VAT, withholding tax, tax filing and full set of accounts. The focus of this role will be on optimizing operations and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage all aspects of financial operations, including VAT, withholding tax, and tax filing, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.Handle monthly VAT, withholding tax, and employees' income tax filings, working with an accounting firm to provide necessary documents for tax submission.Perform daily and monthly Navision entries, maintaining accurate financial records.Conduct credit card reconciliations, including reconciling collections and calculating fees.Prepare salary and accounts payable payment requests for approval and processing.Accounting:Maintain a full set of accounts, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow management.Enter daily and monthly transactions in Navision, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial activities.Manage overall accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.HR:Oversee salary calculations, in collaboration with an accounting firm, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.Compliance and Risk Management:Ensure compliance with all local, federal, and international regulations related to import/export, taxation, and financial reporting.Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational and financial risks.Keep up to date with changes in regulations and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and legal, to support business objectives and drive operational success.Provide strategic input to senior management on operational and financial matters, contributing to the overall growth of the company.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.2-5 years of relevant experience in finance preferably within the international trade or FMCG industries.Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, cargo clearance, VAT, withholding tax, and tax filing processes.Proficiency in financial management, including maintaining a full set of accounts, conducting financial analysis, and preparing tax filings.Experience with inventory management, including entries in ERP systems like Navision and coordinating inventory transfers.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.Proficiency in relevant software and ERP systems.Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
