The Accounts Payable Director reports to the Vice President, Transaction Processing. The major responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide operational leadership, process governance and oversight of the AP Shared Service Team located in Mexico. The AP Shared Service team consists of an AP Manager and six AP Specialists.
- Monitor invoice processing activities, and proactively manage issues to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments. Maintain effective vendor relationships by working with vendors on outstanding invoice issues. Ensure accounts payable monthly close tasks are performed on a timely basis.
- Act as the "face" of the Accounts Payable team and exhibit a high degree of customer service for internal "customers/business partners" across the company.
- Manage escalated Accounts Payable issues as needed, perform root-cause analysis, identify learnings, and implement process improvements.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve accounts payable policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor the health of the payables function through the creation and monitoring of key reports and performance indicators (metrics). Proactively manage issues identified through metrics.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the AP Shared Service Team. Review roles & responsibilities and update target operating model as needed.
- Administer the purchasing/travel credit card programs.
- Manage the annual 1099 process.
- Act as the main point of contact for accounts payable systems (ie. Concur, FFA AP) and direct the implementation of new or upgraded systems as appropriate and ensure efficient use of existing systems.
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- 1 - 2+ years of strong accounts payable management experience.
- C1EPL
- Management / supervisory experience in a shared service model required.
- Extensive knowledge of AP leading practices including vendor management, invoice processing and payment, 1099 issuance, and purchasing card program administration.
- Deep knowledge and experience in design and analysis of accounts payable processes, systems and controls
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to drive process improvements.
- Collaborative management style and strong customer service skills.
- Strong training, development and team building skills.
- Active passport and visa to be able to travel for training for a month
