**Job Description Summary**: The Advanced Lead Electronic Engineer will provide technical expertise to support development of aviation engine products, project execution and design support. The primary design work will be validating or developing electrical components for aeroderivative products.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
The Advanced Lead Electronic Engineer will lead design activities for electrical products and systems. Activities will include the development of product requirements and definitions, changes in design, generate electrical schematics, component selection, component mechanical integration and test plans definition.
This person will also support projects through design reviews and will be available to provide technical advice to other peers, teams, customers and suppliers, as well as to help prepare the technical content of new product proposals to support bid activities, both in technical and budget discussions in forums with engine line leaders.
Also will integrate and verify products and systems, and support products through conceptual design to validation and successful implementation in collaboration with other disciplines (Controls, mechanical, performance, etc.). Additionally, he/she will be available to diagnose and fix design problems in existing products (Root Cause Analysis).
Activities will include, but not be limited to:
- Design for safety, testability, and manufacturability
- Define Electrical Hardware architecture
- Select electrical components for rugged environments
- Schematic generation
- Project management activities
- Collaborate in manufacturing support activities
- Coordinate and lead root cause analysis.
- Support mechanical design, software, test engineering, and manufacturing
- Support qualification and acceptance testing
- Lead or contribute to electrical system trade studies
- Develop innovative designs and system architectures that meet and exceed stringent design requirements and goals
- Work collaboratively with adjacent disciplines and partners in a matrix organizational structure (reporting in indirect lines to more than one stakeholder)
- Implement plans to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems
- Lead and participate in technical and program reviews
- Provide technical leadership to personnel and cross functional teams supporting the assigned projects
- Develop and implement plans with expert guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned systems and components
- Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues / problems
- Recommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
**Required Qualifications**
- This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & electrical hardware. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college
- Strong experience developing of electrical/electronic components
- In depth understanding of principles of sensing (temperature, pressure, acceleration, speed)
- Ability to diagnosis technical issues in electrical systems and to develop practical solutions suitable for manufacture
- Capable of developing and writing specifications for electrical components
- Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English
- Effective handling of MS Office, Unigraphics is desirable
