1.JOB SUMMARY:
This position will focus on develop and own best practices Bill of Process for Juarez-based engineered Control Devices SSCA products (Sensors, Switches, Connectors, Aftermarket).
Support global quote/pursuits and launches for products with robust PFD, PFMEA, and PCP, and up-to-date Equipment specification with lessons learned updates regularly.
The Engineer is responsible for effectively coordination with the Operations functions, interface with functional managers and team members from all organizations within Stoneridge to successfully launch new programs.
Additional focus will be the development and implementation of new technologies in the company.
The Engineer will also Initiates continual improvement within IATF 16949 and follows the environmental requirements within ISO 14001comply with the requirements of BASC-CTPAT.
To fulfill the roles and responsibilities related to the protection of the environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the coordination of manufacturing related activities in the Stoneridge Product Launch Process.
Participate with project managers, commercial managers and manufacturing departments (manufacturing, test and quality departments) in the development of manufacturing solutions, design reviews and realistic manufacturing plans.
- Pursue and report compliance of SPLP manufacturing deliverables and report launch to manufacturing readiness.
- Support new program pursuits with timely quote responses, cost effective capacity solutions, maintain capacity utilizations for SSCA products.
- Write Machine Specification for new pieces of equipment and/or modifications of existing equipment and tooling.
Conduct Equipment Design Reviews for all new pieces of equipment and tooling with a Low Risk Grading.
- Support the development of MSD's and PAR's for new projects.
- Implement lessons learned process to feedback quality/OE/scrap/technology lessons learned/improvements back into fundamental PFD/PFMEA of BOP to ensure best launches moving forward.
- Develop robust PFMEA's using PFD's with inputs and outputs, complete PCP's linked back to all controls in the PFMEA, and complete operational documents for operators/team leaders related to OWI, Process quality check sheets, PM, and operator TPM activities.
- Seek alternate solutions to problems and make recommendations based on data.
- Support Operations and CIME teams in making permanent improvements in Scrap, Uptime, and overall performance.
- Develop and implement new technologies to make the operation more effective and efficient.
- Global responsibility for advance manufacturing engineering activities for SSCA products and processes.
EDUCATION:
BS in engineering is required; Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics is preferred or other equivalent field of Engineering in experience.
EXPERIENCE:
+3 years in machine design and launching assembly / test equipment prior to production.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge in coordinating multi-disciplined teams and working with multiple projects.
- Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
- Design for manufacturing & testing.
- Developed Machine Speciation's for new lean manufacturing systems, assembly cells, standalone stations, custom made equipment, off the shelf equipment and tooling for new projects.

- Knowledge inqualification / validation of lean assembly cells, machinery and equipment, gages and error proofing using Cpk studies, DOEs and MSA studies as R&R, Linearity and Bias studies to validate new variable gages, go
- no-go gages and error proofing devices.
- Knowledge inmechanical design (preferred).
- Knowledge inPLC or other machine control systems (optional).
- Electronic assembly and final assembly experience needed.
