BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at our SLP PDS Plant in Mexico.
In this role, and under direct supervision of the Engineer Manager, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for new NBO quotes, CAPEX monitoring, ensuring capacity planning and effective equipment utilization according to LRP; as well as research, development and implementation of new technologies/processes within the Manufacturing Engineering department. This individual will work directly with equipment suppliers as well as a variety of ITC (Industrial Technology Centre) engineering roles to support NBO, new product development, as well as operation support as required. Travel to any of BW's locations and with suppliers will be required.
Key Accountabilities- Develop budgets, ensure reliable quotes in time following the GQS (Global Quotation System) system as well as feasibility studies.-
- CAPEX track spending budgets for each department/owner/forecast. Participation will include working with cross-functional teams.-
- Coordinate Capex budget requests for subsequent years.-
- CAPACITY - Ensure capacity planning and effective utilization of equipment in accordance with LRP, in coordination with PLMs and manufacturing engineering coordinators.-
- Evaluate and track new NBO product requirements to ensure manufacturability and volume increases in existing products.-
- Participation will include working with cross-functional teams.-
- Provide functional assistance to PLM or Program Managers in GATE reviews as needed. Specifications - Engineering Standards - Ability to give a solution orientation based on your knowledge of BW technology.-
- Understanding of market technology and competition.-
- Define specifications for manufacturing standards.-
- Facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies for new NBO programs.-
- Development of the specification of machines for the purchase of new equipment.-
- Collaboration and support to ITC in the development of new technologies and new products. Research and compare the latest process technologies and manufacturing techniques to continuously improve product quality and cost.-
- Train Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineers in the operation of new equipment.-
- Prepare and make presentations to clients, employees and all levels of the management team.-
- Support in the development of APQP documentation according to AIAG standards.-
- Coordination with contractors to ensure the safety of people during the industrialization process and initial sample production.**Qualifications**:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, manufacturing or related)-
