**Launch innovations in nearly every commercial and defense aircraft platform**:** Position Summary**:
The position is responsible for performing and supporting the mechanical design activities associated with the development of design concepts and validations for test solutions within the Engines and Power Systems Organization. The designer is able to provide complex engineering design solutions across all the Honeywell sites. Also provide direct support and guidance to other less seasoned engineers.
**Areas of Responsibility**:
Applicant is responsible for performing and supporting the design activities associated with 3D modeling, detailing, development and design substantiation thru analytical capabilities (stress, heat transfer, fluid dynamics and energy release) of test equipment for the Engines and Power Systems Organization under the Test Services Mechanical Design Team, such as Vibration Fixtures, Lifting/Handling devices, Pneumatic Systems, Special Tools, Pipe Installations, Pressure vessels among others.
The position is responsible for design integrity of detailed component, system design integrity, and integration of design elements at the assembly level as well as the test equipment substantiation and manufacturability.
Designer should be responsible for the validation of her/his designs through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using dedicated software such ANSYS workbench to evaluate design performance under working conditions such stress concentration and deformation under applicable loads as well as thermal expansion and other applicable phenomenon.
This position requires interaction with manufacturing, project engineering, quality and customer support groups. Position requires develop design concepts, 3D models, substantiation and support development of detailed drawings for the manufacture of components.
This position requires the engineer be capable to work, and administrate several projects in parallel, executing on time and good quality. The designer requires good management skills since he/her could be part of the focal point group for some of the sites we support, as well as demonstrate the effective communication with the peers and customers to capture the project's requirements.
