The Advance Mechanical Design Engineer position is part of the Global Process Engineering Services (GPES) group within the CTO organization. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of an engineering group that is responsible for material cost savings, productivity improvements, and product support to Honeywell R&O service centers.
**Key Responsibilities**
Provide product and technical support to the R&O Mexicali workshop by driving material savings initiatives, product support activities and site performance improvements.
Support the department's productivity goals for material savings, through Repair Development.
Identify Workscoping opportunities to improve business performance relating to reuse, repair, replace, and extending maintenance repair limits.
Identify and implement aggressive cost reduction initiatives and identify external business opportunities relating to the Repair & Overhaul business
Operate as a team member in Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and Honeywell Operating System (HOS)
**YOU MUST HAVE**
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university
+5 years of mechanical engineering experience within the aerospace or automotive industry
FAA/AFAC/EASA Regulations knowledge
FAR 145 and 43 Knowledge
**WE VALUE**
Electromechanical and Heat Transfer product knowledge preferred
Travel willingness > 10%
DFSS Certified or can gain certification within 6 months
Lean Expert and Blackbelt certifications
Proven technical skills in blueprint interpretation and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, design drawings, and related specifications
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as the position demands the ability to represent the site in technical discussions with customers and/or regulatory agencies
Familiarity with the specific Honeywell products listed in the site capability list
