**Job Description**:
Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be on-site an average of three (3) days each week.
**The Role**
The AVIE Lead is responsible for overseeing a dynamic team of Advanced Vehicle IEs and Subject Matter Experts in coordination of future program MPS responses. Our team works cross functionally with ME, MO, Finance and Manufacturing Excellence to ensure IE deliverables are captured for future program planning.
**What You'll Do (Responsibilities)**
- Mentor, train, coach and evaluate IE team members to support program launch.
- Monitor development and progress of MPS and manufacturing studies in your team's area of responsibility.
- Schedule/facilitate peer reviews for gate deliverables.
- Represent single point contact to Program teams.
- Delegate labor studies to correct team members.
- Ensure direct IE input to new vehicle program studies regarding manpower & processing requirements
- Interface with the VS PI organization to provide input on product design enablers regarding BEC and complexity reduction
- Coordinate early development of new program line balance plans
- Support integration activities with Strategic Suppliers and the Plant IE teams.
- Ensure plans and countermeasures are in place to achieve the IE deliverables (MPH, VA%, rough line balance, headcount, etc.) throughout the GVDP
- Align line balance development with simulation studies and overspeed requirements.
- Support Deep Dive activities to ensure line balance process is aligned with tooling, conveyors, controls, and material plans
- Develop and drive the Continuous Improvement Process in AVIE space.

**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
- 3+ years of Vehicle Assembly Industrial Engineering experience (Body, Paint and General Assembly).
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Future program launch/execution experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Processes and GMS principles and
- elements
- Ability to teach and train others including coaching/facilitation skills.
- Ability to gather information, organize and make presentations to Senior Leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and learn quickly.
- Willingness to travel and work non-standard hours to support global calls and workshops
- Proficient level of computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office products, Teamcenter Visualization).
- Model behaviors that reflect GM's Global Leadership Framework.
**What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)**
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Working knowledge of work measurement techniques (STDS) & the Assembly Processing System (APS).
- Indirect Labor/Material IE experience
- Team Center - working with product math data.
