You will have a complete life cycle experience from initial concept development through detail design, implementation, and upgrades, working with over 500 global engineers with a single purpose; deliver the cleanest, most efficient power to our customers.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesThe individual will work within a dynamic, global Controls design team for Aero Gas Turbine Packaging Systems in the execution of programs including New Units and Customizations and Upgrades (CM&U). Perform identified software validation test for assigned projects, and/or systems in a global team environment. Design, execute, analyze and document software development and Controls process.Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems.Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.Develop and apply control technologies to Aero gas turbine new units and aftermarket applications.Write, test, and develop requirements for Aero application code in MarkVIe Control system, Simulink and other Control platforms.Develop new control technologies into packaged product offerings.Participate in Factory Acceptance / Software Witnesses Acceptance Tests / Kick Off meetings with customers.Support site installations with occasional travel to customer sites 80% Office 20% Travel to customer site.Contribute in projects with ultimate responsibility for quality and schedule metrics.Support Controls Software Engineering process, Production and Field Engineering.Provide engineering technical support cross functional teams to improve or resolve Controls design, performance.Contribute & Lead Software development new units, CM&Us and perform validation test.Contribute on the solution of complex technical problems.Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.Communicate and provide recommendations to internal customers through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data.Assure proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.Interface with external organizations and supporting functions, and direct/coordinate the efforts of project team members to accomplish overall goals.Support team's technical proficiency and growth.Support Controls Requisitions Engineering, Production and Field Engineering.Provide technical guidance to other personnel in Control logic development for Aero derivative packages.Provide engineering technical support cross functional teams to improve or resolve Controls design, performance.Contribute on the software development for NPI and validation test.Habitability to create software automatic tools.Provide communications on significant issues or developments.Provide recommendations to internal customers through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data.Assure proper documentation of technical data is generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.Participate on the implementation of innovative analysis design, development concepts of processes and systems.Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.Required QualificationsBS degree in related field plus minimum 4 years' experience in related field or Master's degree in related.Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience.Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.Analytical and problem solving skills.Proven ability to successfully interact with customers and suppliers.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Passion for continuous learning and applying best practices to achieve practical solutions.Experience providing field support as troubleshooting and software upgrades.Desired CharacteristicsStrong understanding of Aero Controls Requisiton for aeroderivative engines functionality LM6000/LM2500/LMS100.Experience developing Human Machine Interface HMI.Experience providing field support.Six Sigma Green Belt certification.MarkVIe Control System Experienced desired.Industrial Power generation control experience.Knowledge of communication networks and protocols Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet.Benefits Available to YouGE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works.
