Role Summary:
**Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - S76 Helicopters**
AMEs are responsible to the Maintenance Manager (or delegate) for the efficient performance of aircraft maintenance at the base.
Key Responsibilities:
- A visible safety champion who challenges unsafe acts and pursue improvements in safety culture and behaviours.
- Comply with all Aviation Orders for the performance, certification of maintenance and those regulations pertaining to Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
- Responsible to the Maintenance Manager for work allocated, supervision and instruction of any staff allocated to assist, ensuring that supplied instructions (and drawings where required) are made available.
- Comply with the Maintenance Manager's instructions.
- Work undertaken is carried out safely, in line with the best industry practices, with the most efficient and economical use of labour, materials, other resources and maintaining the work area in a clean and tidy state.
- Maintain Regulatory and Company quality standards as set by the Maintenance Manager and the Safety and Quality Manager.
Includes inspection, rectification, maintenance practices, function testing and subsequent certification in detail of all work carried out.
- All worksheets and documents are signed as work is completed, estimating completion times of all jobs, ensuring a comprehensive shift hand-over is carried out and maintaining up-to-date information including (where required) accurate man-hour recording.
- Complete requisitions as required with due regard to the current published purchasing procedures.
- Inform the Maintenance Manager on progress of the task allocated and any problems, which may affect the completion including defects, deficiencies in spares, tooling, ground support and test equipment.
- Report to the Maintenance Manager any deviation from standards or other occurrences, which may affect airworthiness, raising defect reports and/or requests for dispensations to the Safety and Quality Manager, where any deviation exists.
- Provide guidance and instruction to tradesman under their control.
Ensuring that supplied instructions and drawings (where required) are made available to all.
- Build capabilities by developing self and others to deliver time and time again
- Maintain currency with respect to all relevant documentation and the revision status of Manuals.
- Maintain the necessary licence, passport, medical vaccinations, eyesight and aural testing currency.
- Travel overseas and interstate if required
- May be assigned other tasks and duties as required to support the business by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Licensed aircraft mechanic with Regulatory Required License
- Compliance and Safety mindset
- Relevant Experience in Helicopter aviation
- Two (2) or more years' experience in aircraft and/or aeronautical product maintenance, overhaul, and repair
- Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and understand English and Spanish
- Computer skills - experienced in using computers and computer software, inventory systems ,Microsoft Office and in particular Microsoft excel or similar
- Ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload
- Good communication and administration skills.
