**Description**This position executes and implements tax returns and reports involved with federal, state, local, property, sales, and other tax liabilities.
Maintains current knowledge of all tax laws affecting the company.
Supports proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet the business plans while managing the tax liability.
Supports tax audits.
May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions.Works independently and receives mínimal guidance.
Solves complex problems; takes a new perspectiveusing existing solutions.
Leads projects with moderate scope, risks, and resource requirements.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Develops and manages operational initiatives to deliver tactical results.
**Accountabilities**- Performs Account reconciliation for BlackLine.- Initiates the Taxes payment in SAT's Portal and Banking Portals.- Performs the Payment of Rights to SCT (Secretaria de Comunicación y Transporte), CONAGUA and Controlled Precints.- Supports materials needed for Internal and Fiscal Audits.- Prepares federal, state and local income tax returns and work-papers in accordance with agreed upon timelines and deadlines, ensuring adequate time for preparation and review processes.- Prepares income tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740 and designated SOX controls for review by management.
Responsible for associated account reconciliations and accrual-to-return adjustments.
Assists with SEC tax reporting requirements.- Prepares tax fixed asset depreciation for capital intensive company with significant book to tax differences.- Prepares income tax projections for extensions, quarterly estimated tax payments, and tax planning.- Supports tax planning and research efforts by partnering with others in department to develop and implement tax savings strategies and ideas for more accurate completion of tax returns.- Assists in preparing responses to document requests received from taxing authorities and assists in preparation of protests as necessary.- Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.Required- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience- VAT (IVA "Impuesto al Valor Agregado") Determination and Technical Knowledge**Preferred**- CPA**Working Conditions**- This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday.
There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.- This position may require mínimal travel up to 10% of the time
