**Description**
As an individual contributor within the NSC Operations Team, this position is responsible to act as a liaison between CPKC international customers shipping via the Port of Lazaro Cardenas MX and other parties involved in the customs clearance process at the Port and border locations.
The position provides industry leading customer service support of all activities associated with the customs clearance process ensuring that all documentary requirements and broker entries are met prior to shipment arrival at Lazaro Cardenas and rail border locations
**Accountabilities**
- Act as the single point of contact for international shippers and brokers moving traffic through the Port of Lazaro Cardenas.
- Actively lead and coordinate the successful integration of shipper documentation into the broker entry process with a focus on ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Confirm accuracy and completeness of shipment documentation, assembling shipment details into a broker acceptable format.
- Follow up with shipper and others for additional information as needed to support waybilling, broker and customs processes.
- Update and complete information through CPKC systems.
- Advise stakeholders when broker filing complete.
- Act with urgency to ensure shipper and broker obligations are executed prior to vessel arrival at port.
- Provide end-to-end process oversight to ensure terminal participants expedite their responsibilities, interacting with brokers, the terminal operator, Mexican Customs and CPKC operations on a daily basis.
- Identify, recommend and implement process improvements, and investigate, manage and resolve exceptions.
- Maintain, manage, and issue daily internal and external KPI's associated with shipper and broker performance.
- Through proactive and direct engagement with shippers, brokers, port terminal operations, Mexican Customs and internal stakeholders this critical and dynamic role leads, drives and monitors the efficient flow of international intermodal traffic to and from the CPKC served Port of Lazaro Cardenas.
- The goal of these combined actions is to ensure successful execution of documentation and broker related requirements prior to shipment arrival at Lazaro Cardenas and that upon arrival; port, broker, and regulatory related procedures are expedited through close interaction with these parties to facilitate shipment release and rail movement to destination.

**Required**
- University degree in Business, Transportation Logistics, Economics or other relevant educational experience.
- 3+ years of demonstrated relevant transportation, port operations, or customs regulatory experience considered an asset.
**Preferred**
- 10 years rail industry experience in field operations, testing, or training.
- Bilingual - English & Spanish preferred.
- Previous Kansas City Southern experience
**Working Conditions**
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders involves conveying, influencing, and negotiating. For example, working with Mexican Customs at the Port of Lazaro to influence their timely handling of the "Red Light / Green Light" process to ensure container loading to railcar prior to cutoff.
