What you will do:
The Senior Analyst roles and responsibilities includes the following: ensuring Customs Origin and Data Management work product us correctly and timely executed based on the set standard and methodologies, follows adequate compliance requirements and internal controls, and serves as a repository of expertise in their functional area.
Specific duties related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in reviewing work product of Analysts and track workload outputs.
- Assist in executing controls to mitigate errors and sustain quality output.
- Providing feedback to Analysts on their work product as well as guiding them through any
- Delivering assessments of Analyst capabilities to the appropriate Leadership Team members.
- Lead complex projects that will eliminate non-value adding activities.
- Drive and lead calls and discussions with customers, business partners and stakeholders within the Customs space.
- Develop deep expertise in the area being supported, USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements with GM North America, includes willingness to work with Global Customs counterparts and contacts to enhance knowledge as well as study GM Policies and Procedures and other external sources.
- Support as back-up in cases of contingency plan, specially for high complex processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for operationally executing and supporting Customs Origin and Data Management methodologies and processes.
- Provide timely and accurate update on the workload as part of Status Reporting.
- Produce schedules, reports, analysis, and other work-product as required.

**Technical Knowledge Requirements**:
- High knowledge on the title 19 - Customs duties (US Code of Federal Regulation) - additionally, continue to attend trainings on these topics to remain adequately informed and knowledgeable.
- Experience in Classification process (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and comfortable with engineering, Origin Calculation System, Trade systems and related systems.
- Systems aptitude is a requirement for this position with knowledge of various GM Systems used in Customs Origin and Data Management mainly TMSII and Cognos and other sources of knowledge necessary for the role - employee must be willing to continuously learn the GM systems landscape and functionality.
