The team you will be a part ofThe Procurement team identifies, researches, and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluates sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses suppliers' products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
This role in summaryToday, you might be negotiating supply agreements. Tomorrow, you'll be developing Commodity strategies for North America operations as well as aligning them with Global and cross-functional category teams. You will present the strategies with Procurement leadership and communicate to critical internal process partners such as Operations. You will run RFQs for new projects and lead the supplier selection process. You will be responsible for delivering supplier quality and cost targets.
Your responsibilities will includeYou will be leading and supporting initiatives related to Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development of suppliers and projects for Ocean Transportation.
Develop and manage the business relationship between Whirlpool and assigned suppliers (Contract negotiations / Supplier issue resolution / Supplier cost reductions / Pricing)Develop the Latin America Region North (LARN) purchasing strategy for assigned product category (Sourcing execution / Supplier selection)Identify, develop and execute projects for your assigned category space, understanding the financial impact of the activity and the overall impact on Whirlpool financialsDevelop and maintain systems related to supplier performance in addition to key relationships with internal customers (Supplier relationship management)Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery and analyze price proposals, financial reports and other information to determine competitive prices and viable suppliersLead sourcing activities related to the evaluation and selection of our carrier base for Ocean Freight, Airfreight, Small Parcel and Customs Brokerage.Develop/Update and execute the category sourcing strategy to drive resultsWork with operations to implement new solutions/carriers to maintain a high level of performanceInitiate and execute projects to improve the cost position of the Integrated Supply Chain Team.Minimum requirementsStrong Analytical skillsAdvanced EnglishBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business ManagementPreferred skills and experiencesIndustry expertiseNegotiation, conflict resolution, and management skillsLeadership, Vision, teamwork and Effective CommunicationManage and prioritize multiple key activities
