Amazon is seeking an Area Manager Jr. in Last Mile Operations, with four key areas that you'll always focus on: safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your Operation.
This role requires working with multiple business and technical teams across the company to manage successful On The Road (OTR) performance, driving continuous improvement and enhancing carrier performance. The candidate must be effective in influencing leadership across customer service operations, technology teams, multiple support teams, multiple carrier partners, and senior leadership.
Job Specifics: This role requires availability to work a flexible schedule/shifts/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Key job responsibilities: Setting and communicating performance goals, creating expectations and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality.Ensure productivity on route is maximized through training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a periodic basis.Partnering with the AMZL Delivery Station under the roof (UTR) management team to establish and maintain quality control standards.Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.Tactical leadership of strategic initiatives.Cross-functional coordination and task tracking.Communications across various areas to ensure alignment of goals and tasks to guarantee the overall success of the program.Strategic planning and forecasting to appraise performance and problem resolution.Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.Management and execution of cross-functional projects or components of large programs including data gathering, manipulation and analysis, forward-looking supply chain approaches and communication of insights & recommendations.Creating and implementing improvements to our transportation network that deliver flexible and efficient products on behalf of our customers.Ensuring procedures are followed for safety, building security, and product loss prevention.About the team:
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our 'under the roof' associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our 'on the road' people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry-wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
Additional Requirements: Bachelor Degree completed.Demonstrated experience to effectively manage workload and meet aggressive deadlines.1+ years management experience in a delivery, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.Management of a minimum of 20 employees (including payroll, performance management, work-flow assignment).Experience working and managing 3PL operations.Fluent English.
