Asset Management Engineer

.**Job Summary**The Asset Management Engineer will be responsible for designing, documenting, and implementing the solution for identification and tracking of IT assets (hardware and software), as well as the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) at Vertiv.It is incumbent upon the Asset Management Engineer to ensure uniformity of services, adherence to standards, and consistency of infrastructure delivery. The Asset Management Engineer works with external partners to deliver quality services to Internal Customers.This role will use industry leading tools to identify all IT assets including software, hardware, virtual machines and cloud services, as well as for ensuring the ServiceNow CMDB is accurate and dynamically updated via Hardware/Software Asset and Configuration Item (CI) records and system integrations. The role will be responsible for tracking CIs through their full lifecycle from requisition through to retirement and playing a role in optimizing technology spend and procurement, and for developing the processes, systems, and tools for asset/configuration management.This a hands-on technical job. A thorough understanding of IT asset and configuration management principles and methodologies is required. Experience with ServiceNow and the Configuration, as well as Asset modules is also required
