**I. Job Summary**:Teach assigned coursework to Anesthesiologist Assistant students, oversee the
Clinical Practicum portions of the curriculum and actively participate in curriculum development
in collaboration with the Dean; develop, teach, monitor, and evaluates courses in the basic
science, clinical, and simulation/skills development aspects of the graduate program; act as a
resource for professional and community connections for personal and professional
development; act as an academic adviser for the students and mentor for the comprehensive
examinations; remain current in professional area of interest and participate in professional
societies and activities, participate in all assigned, required, as well as other related professional
services and activities in the MHSA Program; coordinate the clinical components of the
Program.
**II. Job Duties**:
**1. Teaching**:Serve as Course Director** **for, and deliver, an innovative, integrated Clinical
Practicum curriculum and all other coursework as assigned by the administration.
Obtain and maintain literacy in your field. Equivalent to 70% time. As expertise allows,
provide instruction in other courses of the curriculum.
**a. **Participate in the evaluation of textbooks and other learning material***
**b. **Recommend changes in curriculum, policy, and program requirements to the
Curriculum Committee, as needed.***
**c. **Instruct student learners in simulation-based skills learning activities as needed
**d. **Serve as a primary clinical preceptor of Program students
**e. **Prepare and deliver assigned courses in an educationally effective manner***
**f. **Develop clinical curriculum for Early Clinical Experience (Block 2) and all
clinical practicum experiences (Blocks 4-7)
**g. **Develop a clinical curriculum model that supports the mission of the College
**h. **Create an ongoing evaluation model of the student clinical performance, which
will include review and assessment methodologies
**i. **and demonstrates congruency with the Program's stated objectives***
**j. **Coordinate development and annual revisions of clinical rotation syllabi,
evaluation forms, Clinical Rotation Manuals, clinical rotation calendar, AA
Student Milestones, Clinical Learning Objectives of Training and Clinical
Preceptor Manual
**k. **Maintain and develop clinical rotation site information and faculty rosters
**l. **Collaborate with core clinical sites to compile a schedule of site-specific didactic
sessions and share them with the entire core site network
**m. **Develop clinical rotation sites
**n. **Conduct rotation-end evaluations with Clinical Site Coordinators and DASEs
**o. **Arrange Clinical Phase student meetings and test locations
**p. **Maintain standards of clinical performance in accordance with Program
objectives, professional standards of practice, regulatory, and accreditation
agency standards
**q. **Oversee and monitor clinical procedure and evaluation logging procedures
**r. **Create and monitor the clinical rotation schedule
**s. **Review and disseminate student feedback pertaining to clinical affiliate sites and
clinical instructors
**t. **Maintain online course content***
committees and service to the Program as assigned by the Dean.***
**a. **Participate in faculty meetings and faculty development
**b. **Assist in the ongoing evaluation of the Program, which includes program review
and assessment of student learning objectives
**c. **Prepare and submit reports on course activities, as directed by the Program
Director and Dean
**d. **Recruit, recommend, and orient new clinical preceptors***
**e. **Oversee the Clinical Site Coordinators, DASEs, and adjunct clinical faculty to
manage the education of students***
**f. **Coordinate and facilitate effective communication between students, adjunct
clinical faculty, clinical site coordinators, and clinical faculty
**g. **Conduct annual clinical faculty training and enrichment program***
**h. **Collaborate with other members of clinical curriculum team to conduct audits
and ensure students are meeting all clinical curricular requirements
**i. **Coordinate and attend training events for core site coordinators and clinical
preceptors***
