Scorpios is now looking to build a highly dedicated team to drive the brand to its highest potential.Scorpios Tulum is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager to assist the Purchasing Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Purchasing department, contributing to the procurement of necessary items at competitive prices without compromising quality.**Opportunities for all****Responsibilities****Operational Responsibilities**:- Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and procedures, obtaining necessary approvals before raising purchase orders.- Collaborate with department heads such as the Director of Engineering, Executive Chef, and Director of F&B to source high-quality products at competitive prices.- Verify and approve all purchase order requests and market lists before procurement.- Maintain accurate documentation of all received items, following Four Seasons purchasing and receiving procedures.- Verify and approve invoices sent to Accounts Payable, ensuring alignment with purchase orders.- Facilitate prompt delivery of received items to the respective departments and maintain cleanliness in the receiving area.- Implement proper inventory management practices, including First in First out (FIFO) system and regular stock audits.- Update procurement system regularly and ensure its smooth operation.- Conduct quality control audits to ensure staff adherence to procedures and standards.- Supervise and delegate tasks to purchasing staff, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are upheld.- Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms and discounts without compromising product quality.- Coordinate with car rental companies for vehicle maintenance and repairs.**Executional Responsibilities**:- Lead and motivate the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.- Assist HR in developing and managing employee career development plans through effective coaching and training.- Organize and manage departmental activities in line with company policies, promoting interdepartmental harmony.- Set and monitor departmental goals, consistently striving for efficiency and productivity.- Assist the Purchasing Manager in preparing annual plans and budgets, closely monitoring and managing financial goals.**Mandatory Requirements**:- A degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field is typically advantageous for roles in purchasing.- 3+ years of experience in a related role within a similar brand.- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written); additional proficiency will be a plus.- Comprehensive understanding of procurement regulations and procedures relevant to the local market.- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Expertise in industry-specific standards and regulations governing purchasing and procurement processes.- Ability to create and manage budgets effectively and allocate resources strategically.- Hospitality industry experience is a considerable asset.**Benefits
