We're looking for an experienced HR Professional, who is passionate about building an HR function from the ground up. The HR Generalist will establish all of our HR systems and processes in Mexico, paving the way for us to transition our current Mexican-based workforce from an Employer of Record to direct hires. This hire will extend our US-based People Operations team into Mexico. They'll also support our US, UK, and Canadian-based teams with compliance, leave management, state taxes, and benefits management.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Vendor Management with Zenefits (HRIS), Sequoia (Benefits), and all other HR tools
- Ensures the company's compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance in Mexico (and the US)
- Analyzes trends in benefits and usage of benefits and provides recommendations to ensure Directive has best-in-class benefits
- Work with the managers to resolve any employee issues and conflicts, and brings them to resolution; oversee employee disciplinary meetings and terminations for MEX and US
- Maintains the Company's Employee Handbook updated with all current policies, benefits, and procedures
- Support and promote the company's culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration
- Assist in the planning and executing of team-building and staff retreat events
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, and benefits
- Support all HR initiatives with the Head of People Operations
- Ship and temporarily store company-owned laptop computers
**What You Offer**:
- Fluency in English
- 5+ years of experience working in Human Resources
- Employee relations experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of human resource practices, including compliance, leave management, benefits management, vendor relationships
- Ideally knowledge of Mexico and US HR practices
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Solid time management skills and strong ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, open, entrepreneurial environment

**Work Environment Requirements**
