The team you will be a part of
Whirlpool is looking for multiple Product Development Engineers linked to the business strategy of growing and investing in Mexico. The roles are located in the Global Product Organization within the Refrigeration Platform. The engineer will be responsible for the system/subsystem deliverables, including development, execution, verification and validation, working with global cross functional teams during various phases of projects and across various technologies.
This role in summary
Mechanical Structures engineer is in charge of leading and delivering projects to improve either new or existing mechanical systems in refrigerator home appliances. This position is part of a Global team that develops and delivers refrigerators worldwide. Good practices and knowledge are shared across regions. This opportunity is located in the Technology Center of Monterrey with the capacities to deliver a home appliance worldwide.
Your responsibilities will include
Responsible for design, cost, quality trade offs as well as project key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the project plan
Concurrent engineering application: starting with multiple concepts development and converging to preferred concepts by use of concept evaluation tools, design development, simulation and verification and validation methods.
Development of detailed design considering materials, design for manufacturing, design for assembly, simulation based design, cost, aesthetics, craftsmanship, safety, bill of materials maintenance, planning, etc
Design capture by use of Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA), requirements capture, Design guides, drawings, Tolerance Stack ups, A3s, functional decompositions, etc
Functional decomposition, etc Follow up on simulation projects with clear boundary condition definitions, and interpret results to make necessary design modifications. Use of tolerance analysis to drive sensitivity in the simulation results
Work with Procurement teams, suppliers and manufacturing teams to support both product builds and project development
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Mechanical, Thermodynamic or related technical field.
1+ years experience or related experience in Engineering
Fluent English
