As Associate Manager Procurement, you will be accountable for the overall management of Paper and Plastic Packaging for the LATAM region with hubs in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil.
This role will develop and execute the sourcing strategy and supply agreements for Packaging such as Corrugated boxes, Folding Cartons, Labels, and Plastic Components. In this role you will develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure supply and deliver on cost, innovation, and sustainability goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and own the regional Procurement sourcing strategy, and deliver the objectives of supply continuity, cost savings, working capital improvement, sustainability, innovation, and service.
- Manage key supplier relationships across the region and develop a deep understanding of the market and supply base.
- Execute strategy through the RFP process, supplier evaluation/selection, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Lead supplier selection and component pricing for innovation and support innovation projects through commercialization.
- Partner with suppliers to bring new product and/or process innovations that drive profitable growth.
- Responsible for Sustainability goals and objectives
- Deliver inflation forecasts used in the SCJ budgeting process, track commodities, mitigate inflation, and provide contractual pricing information to operations teams
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- BS degree preferably in an Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Procurement Portfolio/Category Management, Product Supply, and/or Finance
- Min 2-years' experience in fast-moving, Consumer Packaged Goods industry
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Procurement skills in areas such as market analysis, negotiation, clean sheets as well as the ability to execute agreed upon strategies and project management skills (Planning, implementing, monitoring, and completing project)
- Preferred if experience with Paper & Plastic Packaging and Operational Procurement
- Communication and presentation skills to have the ability to interface with and influence multiple levels of an organization internally and externally with a proven track record of cross functional collaboration in a matrix organization
- Ability to work independently and manage for results and good business orientation necessary to achieve the financial targets
- Strong financial analysis skills, organizing and evaluating financial data to support business decision making
- Risk and Opportunity Management, identifying, assessing, prioritizing, documenting, and managing risk and its impact
- Strategic Sourcing, identifying, evaluating, and engaging suppliers to optimize quality and value in the purchase of materials, services and equipment
- Manage complex projects with a high degree of ambiguity
