**Job Overview**:T he management expect to hire an ambitious, skilled and mentally agile Junior Project Accountant who possesses great analytical, and financial modelling skills and can grow within the finance function and take up higher responsibilities.
The Junior Project Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, and other related financial activities for 1 or more projects.
This owner of this role will work closely with the Principal Project Accounting and the Project Accounting Manager.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:- Prepares, analyzes and reviews account reconciliations, variance analysis and fluctuation analysis- Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.- Prepares and records entries including inter-company transactions and accruals.- Prepares and implements project invoicing procedure for external and internal entities.- Responsible for ensuring that intercompany accounts are reconciled.- Assist with forecast and budgets as needed- Support procurement team ; review (Commitment vs Actuals)- Support various internal and external audits relating to assigned activities- Provide timely and effectively communicated responses to internal and external audit inquiries**Requirements**:- 2-3 years of experience working with financial accounting and analysis- Advanced skills in MS Excel- Advanced Power Point skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Mentally agile and ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines- Strong communication and presentation skill, both written and verbal (Spanish - English)**Education**:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is requiredAt McDermott, we proudly work together to create and deliver innovative engineering and construction solutions for the energy industry.
