Individuals at this level have a minimum of two years' experience as a staff accountant and normally have passed the CPA or Chartered Accountant exam.
Senior Accountants in Audit are expected to: Know and understand the reason behind the firm's policies and proceduresPossess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise ("coach") staff accountantsBegin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyaltyExhibit (or develop) skills and characteristics delineated in the Firm's evaluation formsBegin to develop a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentationsObtain a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniquesAssume responsibility for efficiently supervising both audit and non-audit engagements/tasksInteract with core engagement teams and all low-levels of client personnel in an intelligent and professional mannerEssential Functions:Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and managerParticipates in planning and executing client engagements/tasksPrepares and indexes working papers; performs various procedures established under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to verify accuracy and validity of client's financial mattersBegins to develop a command of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentationsObtains a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniquesEffectively communicates with core engagement teams to receive information necessary to complete the engagement with a minimum of disruption to clientQualifications:Master's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting with the 150 hours and must have completed all requirements to be able to sit for the CPA or Chartered Accountant examMinimum of 2 years in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks as well as having in charged engagementsProficiency in accounting softwareOral and written communication skills in EnglishStrong organizational and analytical abilitiesAbility to work well in a team environment CRI unites your professional passions with your individual personal pursuits.
