Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Description For an automated process, the technician must be able to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the integrated process in the production system. He/she must understand the logical of programming and electronic systems, sensor, and feedback principles to operate robots / machines and resolve problems. Responsibilities Problem solving issues as efficient as possible to reduce downtime in automatic equipment. Document the maintenance and periods for each type. Lead Root Cause Analysis and work in process improvements to reduce defects (PPM's). Analyze information and create reports to show trends about utilization and efficiency (TAU/OEE) Coordinates activities of support with the team, maintaining clear and open lines of communication with other support teams like Tooling, CNC Programming, Maintenance, Facilities, IT, Safety. 5S's practices Understanding KPIV's and KPOV's for the process and the control in the process. Monitor KPIV's and KPOV's for the process and the control in the process. Identify risks in the area and escalate to take actions. Daily Gemba activity to identify process opportunities and complete actions. Implement process improvements to increase control level in equipment. Develop projects for cost reduction using Lean manufacturing methodologies/tools. Validate NPI in the process, considering safety, tooling, process capability. Design of tooling or fixtures to improve process performance. Work on reducing equipment alarms, failures by analysis of data. Monitor TPM checklists are filled correctly
