Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Automation Commodity Management Director located in Guadalajara, North. Reporting to the VP, Indirect Procurement, the Automation Commodity Management role involves crafting, driving, developing, and ensuring execution of global strategies and sourcing activities of Flex's global automation plan to provide our segments and business units with optimal automation supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. What a typical day looks like: Drive our commercial Flex automation strategy with procurement, engineering, segment, and operational teams across the board, including the setup of the Indirect Procurement Automation team.Establish and manage executive long-term strategic relationships with core suppliers.Ensure the optimal commercial selection, development, and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet Automation Integrations and Components costs and performance goals.Negotiate with key vendors to achieve best Total Cost of Ownership benefit for Flex.Design and deploy programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management, and supply base optimization.Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, communicating regularly with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps, and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement, and communicate strategic and tactical commodity strategies as appropriate.Source for innovation within the market and bring those ideas to Flex.Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies, and industry trends.Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate.Participate in the review of supplier contracts, outlining requirements and considerations.Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to optimize supply chain operations, adhering to Flex's highest compliance standards.Ensure the team responds proactively and accurately to the fast pace of business.High-level participation in critical procurement activities and effective problem solving. The experience we're looking to add to our team: Automation background, experience related is a must.BA/BS or equivalent and work experience: 10+ years' experience.Commercial, Engineering, and Manufacturing background experience required.Strategic Supplier Development and decision making.Strong knowledge in manufacturing/processes preferable for the electronics industry.Operations and Customer-facing experience with top management.Advanced Program Management skills.Contract Negotiation experience.Advanced English, impeccable written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.Leadership skills and team development.Problem Solving and Detail-oriented.Ability to interface and communicate with different levels of the organization.Capable of engaging and driving strategies with global teams, integrating different cultures and backgrounds.
