Automation Design Engineer
Purpose of the Job
As "Automation Design Engineer" in case of projects:
- Assist the "Power Supply Design Leader" in his role of performing the basic and detailed power supplyengineering activities of a traction project (metro and tramway),
- Responsible for the Automation basic and detailed design,
- Participate to the REX (Return of Experience) of the project.
Position in the Organisation
Organisation Reporting
The position reports hierarchically to the "Automation Team Leader".
The position reports functionally to the "Power Supply Design Leader" of the project.
Network & Links
The "Automation Design Engineer" will liaise with:
- Engineering: Power supply engineering team + other engineering teams,
- Project: Project management team,
- Site: Construction + tests and commissioning teams,
- External interface: Suppliers + Subcontractors + Customer + Partners,
- Regional Centers.

Performance Measurement/KPI's
The "Automation Design Engineer" work will be evaluated according to the following points:
- On-time delivering: 100%,
- Respect of Design For Quality milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier,
- Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%.
- The quality of the works performed in the frame of Central function.
**Responsibilities**:
As "Automation Design Engineer" in project:
- Perform the Automation basic engineering activities of a project:
- Define all architectures for automation and control-command systems,
- Provide all technical and interfaces specifications for automation and control-command systems.
- Perform the Automation detailed engineering activities of a project:
- Ensure the technical monitoring of the subcontractor for automation programs and automation cubicles,
- Provide the connection diagrams,
- Participate to the factory acceptance tests of the automation and control-command systems.
- Assist the "Automation Team Leader" about all automation interfaces and risks to be managed,
- Provide technical support to Construction and Test and Commissioning teams with regards to automation design issues,
- Participate (if requested) to the As-built documentation drawings modifications.
Job Specifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Graduated from engineering school in SCADA systems,
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in automation systems,
- Test and commissioning experience appreciated,
- Professional experience in railway transportation,
- Good knowledge of automation systems,
- Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in technical topics,
- Fluent English, second language appreciated.
