As an Automation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of new high-speed custom automation systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance our manufacturing capabilities.

At Molex, part of Koch Industries, we are looking for a talented Automation Design Engineer to join our DSS Manufacturing Services team and drive our automation projects to new heights.
What You Will Do Design new connector and cable manufacturing machinery using Siemens NX CAD software.Collaborate with the engineering department to determine design completion dates.Attend design reviews to improve current and future designs of automation.Prepare debug and setup documentation for designs.Track projects using internal methods to summarize component cost, labor, and lead-time. Develop accurate, up-to-date BOMs and spare tooling lists.Understand, support, and contribute to project completion according to internal product development procedures, TQM, and IS/QS-9000 requirements. Embrace Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S management systems by following stated policies and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.International travel up to 10% per year.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Engineering Degree related to Design (Mechanical, Mechatronics, etc).Proficient in Siemens NX or SolidWorks 3D CAD package.Ability to provide multiple design concepts to solve process challenges.Expertise in the design and documentation of machine assemblies in CAD.Understanding of GD&T and the ability to perform tolerance analysis and finite element analysis.Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of expressing complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.Strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to work positively with many worldwide cultures.What Will Put You Ahead Knowledge of machine building techniques.Experience with scheduling and budgeting.Experience with high-speed synchronous, asynchronous, and flexible (robotics) assembly systems.Design experience with high-speed machinery.Mechanical cam/linkage analysis experience.Knowledge of toolmaking (understanding of manual and CNC machining equipment).Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems design standards.
