Automation Designer

**Automation Designer****Required competency and experience**:- Degreed in Engineering. Mechatronic Engineering Degree a Plus.- Minimum 3 years design experience in manufacturing process environment. Fabrication, machining, industrial, molding, etc.- Experience/Expert with SOLIDWORKS 3D mechanical design software and simulations a must.- Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects.- Remain flexible while working in a fast paced, frequently changing stressful environment.- Ability to work independently, self-motivated, self-directed and in a team-based environment as required.- Detail orientated.- Strong mechanical aptitude.- Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.- Able to use standard or reference designs for creation of new designs.- Create accurate B.O.M.'s. Based on the bill of materials (BOM), ask Request for Quote (material RFQ).- Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.- Experience with robotics, vision systems, and other complex turn-key purchased mechanisms and sub-systems.- Should have understanding of common mechanical engineering practices, standards, mechanisms, and purchased components.- Understanding of machine ergonomics, serviceability, and maintenance.- Should have strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills to solve challenging technical problems.- Strong interpersonal skills.- Effective oral and written communications.
