ILC Dover is a portfolio company of New Mountain Capital, which acquired the company in February 2020.**Job Summary**:Researches, designs, develops, and tests the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment or components of new and existing production equipment. This includes specification reviews, development of program timelines and reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, documentation packages, and production. This engineer will also be responsible for trouble-shooting production equipment and provides technical support of some mature electrical products currently in production, as well as skills development of the production workforce related to electrical assembly.**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:- Knowledge and understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI) programming and maintenance- Generates designs of electrical control systems for new production equipment- Generate updated designs of electrical control systems for existing equipment- Assists in troubling-shooting of production equipment- Coordinates the activities of in-house service groups and outside suppliers for machine, equipment, tool, and fixture fabrication- Assists product development teams with developing designs, processes, and procedures from a producibility perspective- Initiates and modifies documentation in support of the fabrication of highly technical products using rigidly controlled processes- Coordinates the introduction of new manufacturing processes and equipment to production- Controls and optimizes existing manufacturing processes- Performs process capability studies to develop systems to keep process parameters within acceptable tolerances; this includes environmental control where applicable- Assists production supervisors with Continuous Improvement activities, such as mistake-proofing, defect trending analysis, cost control, quality improvement, etc
