You will collaborate with departmental and corporate leadership to determine existing automation capabilities and future opportunities, creating detailed project road maps for automation projects that support our business objectives.Technical Job FunctionsDesign and implement automated systems for use in diverse manufacturing and production environments.Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes.Develop and implement maintenance programs for equipment.Manage equipment purchase and installation.Prepare manufacturing documentation.Lead collaborative discussions between local management and upper management to determine automation capabilities and goals.Create detailed road maps to guide automation projects from conception to final implementation.Support existing automation technology with component and process upgrades.Equipment Bill of Materials.Schematics and Wiring Diagrams.End-to-end functional testing of all points to local devices, HMI, control room, and other data off-taker facilities.Authorities and ResponsibilitiesAssists with project planning, scheduling, and coordination for all size projects.Provides technical leadership.Works with other project team members and produce project deliverables as required.Troubleshooting and resolving communications issues.Programming of all devices.Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.Job Requirements:KnowledgeProficiency with PLC hardware selection and programming.Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and other computer software.Possesses effective written and oral communications skills.Autocad/Solidworks/CreoExperience with the design and implementation of automated systems, especially as related to manufacturing.Fluent in English, written and spoken.Strong ability with software testing and validation.CommunicationAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, product drawings, and product specifications.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
