Automation Engineer
Location: San Luis de la Paz, Guanajuato Opportunity Kohler Bajío BASIC FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Supvr- Plant Engineering/Maintenance, this position is responsible for developing, maintaining and leading project-engineering programs in order to keep the automated equipment in good operating conditions, through preventive and corrective maintenance. Moreover, is responsible for the proper function of the automated equipment, such as: PLCs, Robots, Drives and Sensors.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the correct operation of the control programs according to production necessities.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to control devices, in order to avoid malfunctions or delays.Maintain and solve problems of all the equipment of the Plant, such as: PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley and Omron), Robots (Fanuc, Gaiotto), Drives, sensors and Instrumentation.Support manufacturing improvement through KOS and support a safe work environment.Design and build small machines to improve production work and reduce Takt Time.Advise and/or respond to automation problems on a 24-hour basis as needed.Perform the assignments established by the Supervisor to maintain plant equipment in good operating conditions.Control and document all backups and changes of programs.Update and control of software licenses.Be aware of the obsolescence of components, PLCs, or instrumentation in automated systems in order to prepare for replacement if needed. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Organization Relationships:
Frequent contact with all Process Engineers, Production and Maintenance Foreman, General Supervisors, and Superintendent Pottery.
External Business Relationship:
Frequent contact with tooling and machine vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Engineer Degree, two years work experience in manufacturing operation. Broad knowledge in Automated control devices and technologies. Must have problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions on control program failures and minimize downtime of equipment. Strong knowledge in electronics, instrumentation, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software applications.
