Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/a Automation Engineer located in Tijuana B.C.
Reporting to the Director, Process Engineering.
The Automation Engineer role involves.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop automation requirements and specifications.
- Develop budget and schedule for projects and manage projects to stay within them.
- Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
- Manage automation suppliers through all phases of projects.
- Provide on-site support during machine build, debug and testing/qualification.
- Support new product development automation needs, facilitate assembly processes through the implementation of assembly cells and automated equipment at NPI stage and ensure meeting development timeline.
- Interface with customers and functional owners on product development issues regarding automation.
Conduct design-for-automation analysis and provide detailed recommendations.
- Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
- Understand the machine operating principle, Consequence of wear and tear parts and product Defects
- Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance
- Should be willing to learn & enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.
- Should prepare why-why analysis & drive for permanent corrective actions.
- Should be able to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BS/ MS Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent work experience
- English/Spanish communication skills
- Experience in Medical device industry (As a Plus)
- Knowledge of automation systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, ASRS, Conveyors, PLC, screws/fasteners, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test (Structural and Non-Contact e.g.
Laser), Application of lasers e.g.
Etching/Marking, Dispense process, Machining, Mechanicals (Soft Tooling, Hard tooling, Plastics, etc.)
- Excited and enthusiastic with manufacturing and assembly automation
- Well organized, pay attention to details, methodical
- Automation project experiences
- Experience working with automation suppliers.
- Proven successful track record of working in high-tech and fast paced environments.
