Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Automation Mechanical Design Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.
Reporting to the Automation & IIoT Manager, Automation Mechanical Design Engineer role involves defining, developing, implementing and proliferating Automation Projects, providing consultancy as SME and developing new customer engagement in the region with a focus on technical support.
What a typical day looks like:
- Interpretate mechanical drawings from customer product design to meet all specifications and requirements.
- Be able to create and define RFQ/SOW documents to quote with supplier's new integrations.
- Design automation solutions in the mechanical area.
- Ensure mechanical design to be able to be manufactured.
- Review and be able to approve mechanical design drawings and validate deliverables to be quoted.
- Simulate mechanical design, from simple automation, custom, and full lines automation, to provide visualization and calculate line improvements from implementing solutions (CT, UPH, etc.).
- High-level participation in daily production activities and effective problem-solving on daily issues.
- Get involved with local teams and operations to provide technical support for the implementation or development of any technology.
- Work on the maturity of the technologies currently deployed.
- Take responsibility for the development or implementation of a project.
- Train local teams on the technologies.
- Able to quote and follow up on implementations in the mechanical technical area.
- Work in collaboration with the Project Manager to meet the timeline.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
- Fluent English.
- Experience in a similar position.
- Experience with Automation Mechanical Design (DFAA - Design for Automation, EoAT, Stack up of tolerances).
- Management of design SW tools such as Solid Works, NX (Siemens) and CAD (AutoCAD).
- Management of PM tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet.
- Experience and knowledge in mechanical tolerances for equipment design.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, and electrical diagrams reading and component selection.
- Experience with suppliers for automation integration solutions.
- Knowledge of mechanical design to be fabricated by mechanical systems (e.g., material selection, hardening treatments, tolerances establishment, etc.)
- Experience in suppliers' management.
- Availability to travel.
