The Azure Systems and Infrastructure Engineer role is crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining the systems and infrastructure that underpin our IT operations. Leveraging your expertise in system administration, network architecture, and cloud technologies, you will support the organization's technical infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Your role will involve the management and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure and services within the Microsoft Azure platform for not only compute and related Azure infrastructure resources, but also Azure/Entra AD, Conditional Access, and identity governance.
General Accountabilities
Design, implement, and maintain the organization's cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and virtualization platforms, to meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
Manage and administer cloud infrastructure services, such as compute instances, storage volumes, virtual networks, and identity and access management policies, across multiple cloud platforms.
Optimize cloud resources, monitor usage and costs, and implement cost-saving measures, such as rightsizing instances, leveraging reserved instances, and implementing tagging strategies.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration and infrastructure management, and recommend solutions for enhancing IT capabilities and efficiency.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using scripting languages, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) techniques to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Implement security controls, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and cybersecurity standards within the Azure environment.
Develop and implement automation solutions leveraging Microsoft Graph API to streamline tasks, optimize workflows, and enhance business processes. This includes creating custom scripts and applications for tasks such as data synchronization, reporting, alerting, and process orchestration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize cloud-based IT solutions that meet the company's evolving business needs and support its growth objectives.
Job Qualifications
Education:
ITSM foundation training is required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Proven experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or related roles, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems and infrastructure.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools, scripting languages, and version control systems.
