About the role Carrier Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join the Commercial Airside (AHU) New Product Development team. The candidate will work on design and programming of selection software for new products and options to support the growth of the Commercial Airside business. As part of the AHU Engineering team, s/he will work with other departments including Product Management, Manufacturing, and other R&D teams to continually improve the back-end integration of the selection software with business systems such as ERP, MES, and other production systems.
Minimum Requirements As a minimum, you must have:
General Responsibilities:Apply software engineering principles to code parametric engineering designsAnalyze existing code to reverse engineer current software and systemsDocumentation and maintenance of code over timeUtilize Agile methodologies for product developmentWork for the Air Handler New Product Development Engineering team to translate Engineering rules into executable Java codeSpecific Responsibilities:Work with 3D geometry and engineering rules to directly support manufacturing using sheet metal flats, CNC Program inputs for manufacturing, and bills of material to final forms and assembliesUnderstand pre-existing Java code behind the current, highly configurable product offering; extend the current code base to incorporate new functionality required for future projectsWork with others on the engineering and software teams on the backend for the next generation cloud-based front end for selection softwareWork with the front-end team on code integration to support timely software releasesSkills/Qualifications BA/BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent4-5 years of experienceJavaAgile Development Experience (e.g. Scrum)XML DatabasexQueryPreferred Qualifications Working knowledge of JavaScriptVBADROOLSSheet metal, mechanical, and electrical design experience is desiredSAP experience preferredSoft Skills Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environmentAbility to communicate professionally in written and verbal format across a wide audienceHighly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple prioritiesBenefits We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all of our employees, and enhancing our programs when necessary.
