.Job Description SummaryThe Bearing Pedestal Technical Leader within the Steam Turbine Engineering team has the full design lifecycle ownership for the Bearing Pedestals and adjunct components, including Journal & Thrust Bearings, Turning Gear, Instrumentation, & Clutch in SS STAG applications. This is a critical role demonstrating ownership, accountability, and driving LEAN to achieve continuous improvement, reduce variation, and improve productivity via new/improved tools and processes.Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES:Embrace and demonstrate (lead by example) GE Vernova Way within the framework of S-Q-D-C.EHS/Safety skillset in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.E. lifting and transportation.Lead component design team in execution of NPI, OTR, and RTS activities for new units and aftermarket services.Lead and mentor global team of Steampath Engineers, enabling their technical and career growth.Embrace the role of customer interface via Installation/Constructability improvement initiatives. Enhance and optimize customer documentation to improve quality, customer usability, and reduce cycle time from project release.Follow NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for responsible component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations.Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points.Work seamlessly with cross-functional teams (Drafting/Sourcing/Manufacturing) to execute and deliver team PLM tasks on-time with quality.Partner with Product Line, Application Engineering, and SILs to drive platform strategy for product structuring and technology enhancements.Review and lead appropriate engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs.Work with all Global Steam Turbine Technology teams to drive common analytical and execution approach, i.E. Standard Work.Identify and leverage other external team best practices, including HDPE, Steam Power and Gas Turbine to drive productivity and technology.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.Significant engineering experience.DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:Advanced engineering degree.(USA) 4+ years experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST design process & procedures.Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.Finite Element Analysis (ANALYSIS) capability.Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt Certified (GE Employees only).System Design experience.Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems.Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks
