POSITION SUMMARY The Bid Specialist is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing resources from sales, engineering, delivery and marketing to drive a successful solution pursuit and proposal process.  Drive maximum collaboration, timely adherence to schedule, high quality work products and overall proposal development effectiveness. This person will contribute with workflow, proposal, and process improvement efforts during the pursuit and proposal phases.  This candidate must be a self-starter, who can work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.  RESPONSIBILITIES  Lead and gather proposal deliverables from functional owners, preparing final proposal draft for approval, and distributing final proposal for distribution to customer (by sales or assigned function). Providing ongoing feedback to continuously improve competitive / market intelligence gathering (includes win/loss analysis), reference architecture libraries, and proposal design formats. Participating in CRM activities and reporting projects to drive appropriate engagement dashboard output and pipeline management. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. Driving complete deal input from sales and Solution Architects to gain timely qualification for deals that are consistent with IMS go to market strategy. Provide regional inputs to continuously improve Bid Management processes Lead and generate responsive, compliant and compelling proposal responses to solicitations, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs and other assignments with deadlines. Consistently implement Vertiv brand messaging, including tone, style and theme, within all responses. Effectively leverage and promote the Vertiv value proposition. Electronically archive all Proposals and assist in win/loss analysis. Responsible for pursuit scope management, change management, ensuring that the impacts of scope change (timeline and cost) are understood and documented, as well as managing proposal development. Ensure consistent proposal content and formatting are delivered in line with IMS strategy and messaging Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related deliverables as needed. Complete all necessary SharePoint & Smartsheet inputs and updates Compile and prepare the CBOM and costing requirements Review with appropriate stakeholders and speak to all costing items Review and drive schedule inputs to ensure delivery within acceptable timelines Be a contributor in the Bid Management process improvement that allows the process to flow more efficiently  Take leadership function and responsible for all IMS Bid Management activities when Bid Manager is on PTO  Other miscellaneous duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications:  Minimum number of 5 years of experience in project management, construction, or manufacturing. Demonstrates ability to plan, set priorities, organizes and coordinates work with others. Builds good relationships. Is persuasive, assertive, demonstrates diplomacy and tact. Demonstrates professionalism (e.g., cooperation, courtesy, assertiveness, and non-defensiveness, accepting constructive criticism, and maintaining confidences). Effectively handles stressful situations (resolving conflicts and meeting deadlines). An ability to prioritise and be flexible to meet deadlines. Demonstrated success in engagement / pursuit management, and / or defining, launching and selling technology products or solutions.
